Molloy bows out of Glór Tire

Popular Pullough entertainer, John Molloy, was philosophical in defeat as he became the second contestant to bow out of the TG4 country music talent show, Glór Tire, on Tuesday night last.

John was one of two Offaly contestants in the show, with Clara's Noreen Rabbette, who is a primary school teacher and a singer with her own band, 'The Secrets' progressing to the next round of the singing competition.

In a lengthy Facebook post following his elimination from the Glór Tire Show, the members of 'Team Molloy' wrote that, while there was “a little disappointment and sadness” the overwhelming emotion that everyone felt was pride.

“John may have left Glór Tire, but he left the same way he came in, the same way he always took to the stage, saying every goodbye the same way he always says every hello...with a big smile on his face, a kind word for everyone, and gratitude for everything, and we couldn't be prouder of him” said his team.

The post also paid tribute to John Molloy's mentor, Michael English, and to his many friends, supporters and sponsors, including Colton Motors, Guy Clothing and Tullamore Credit Union for their “enormous belief in, and commitment to a local entertainer.”

The very popular Pullough entertainer may be down but he is certainly not out, and his Facebook post assures his legion of fans “he'll see you all back out on the dance floors again before you know it.”

Meanwhile, Noreen Rabbette will continue to carry the flag for Offaly and Clara as she continues her quest for the coveted Glór Tire crown over the coming weeks.
