Offaly has the second lowest disposable income countrywide 

Offaly has the second lowest disposable income countrywide - according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office.

Offaly sits just behind Donegal for top position in the lowest earning counties, with disposable income per person in Donegal coming out at €15,892.

Disposable income per person in Offaly totalled €17,039; while in Laois it was €17,684; Longford €17.542; and in Westmeath €18,430.

It’s a worsening income crisis for Offaly who were the fourth poorest in terms of disposable income back in 2014 and third worst the following year.

Figures show that primary income, as well as total and disposable household income for 2016 was far lower in Offaly than all other Midland counties including Westmeath, Longford and Laois.
