Young accident victim in serious condition
An Offaly boy hit by a car while on his bike was transferred to hospital in Dublin with serious injuries this week.
The collision happened in Killurin, on the Gurteen Road near Killeigh, at around 1 o’clock on Tuesday.
The boy was taken to Tullamore Hospital, but was then transferred to Dublin.
When contacted by the Offaly Independent on Thursday, Gardai in Tullamore said the boy was in Temple Street Children's Hospital, and his condition remained serious.
The road was closed for forensic examinations in the aftermath of the incident.
