Family Fun Day at new look Ferbane Nursing Home

Ferbane Nursing Home at Gallen Priory will open its doors to welcome members of the local community to their family fun open day on Thursday July 18, from 2 to 6 pm.

Recently-appointed Denise Hilton, Director of Nursing/Person In Charge and her team are organising an entertaining afternoon for families in the local community.

Olivia Douglas who sings with Nathan Carter, will open the event in the garden at 2pm.

Family fun is planned with face painting, an ice cream van and a new fairy trail. Historian and author Brendan Ryan will give a talk on the heritage and history of Gallen Priory at 3.30pm in the beautifully restored drawing room.

Stories go back to monastic times and more recently lots of locals have fond memories when they attended secondary school there. Sr Maeve, Mother Superior of the Order of St Cluny, will be in attendance to reflect on the great work done on the building and grounds.

This event marks the official opening of the 13 new ensuite rooms, the uniquely designed multi-sensory garden in the courtyard, as well as the upgrade and refurbishments throughout the property under the care of the Windmill Group
