Kinnitty Castle's Cavan named wedding co-ordinator of year

Kinnitty Castle’s wedding co-ordinator Cavan Dunne has been revealed this week as Wedding Venue Co-ordinator of the Year 2013 in the WeddingsOnline.ie 2013 Industry Awards.

The popular wedding venue that is Kinnitty Castle was itself shortlisted as Best Castle Wedding Venue in the same awards, but lost out to eventual winner Barberstown Castle.

Other Offaly shortlist entries were the County Arms Hotel in Birr in both Wedding Venue of the Year Hotel (Leinster) and Lakelands Venue of the Year categories. The Tullamore Court Hotel also featured in the Lakelands Venue of the Year shortlist, though the category’s outright winner was named as the Radisson Blu Farnham Estate Hotel in Cavan.

Mr Dunne saw off competition from a plethora of other wedding co-ordinators to claim his win, including Martin Tempany at the Tullamore Court Hotel and Conor Loughnane at the County Arms Hotel.

The much anticipated results were revealed at the WeddingsOnline.ie awards in Clontarf Castle on February 18. Results were arrived at following votes from over 28,000 brides and grooms nationwide and judging by a panel of expert industry specialists.

Speaking after his win Mr Dunne thanked everyone who voted for him. “Not only is this a fantastic achievement for me personally and my career, it is a wonderful accolade for Kinnitty Castle to be shortlisted and win awards against such highly accliamed hotels across the country,” he said.
