Extras sought for filming of 1979 dance scene

Extras willing to take part in a 1970s dance scene as part of Offaly short film “Men and Women†are this week being sought.

Directed by Ruth Meehan, “Men and Women†is based on an award-winning short story by Claire Keegan. Produced under the FilmOffaly scheme, it follws the story of a young girl over her ninth Christmas as her loss of innocence is reflected in her realisation that relations between her parents are not what they seem.

Central to the story of “Men and Women†is a big New Year's dance that will be filmed in Cloghan for two days over the March 22-25 period. Anyone willing to get dolled up in their best 70s clothing and be part of the short film is now being encouraged to get in touch. Extras will be required for two full days and will have to bring two changes of clothing appropriate to the year 1979.

As the project is low budget there will be no payment for extras. However catering will be provided as well as a DVD of the finished film. Anyone interested should email carolina@ink-and-light.com.
