Three people are being detained in Garda stations across the Midlands, as part of an investigation into organised crime in Offaly.

Gardai from Tullamore carried out planned searches on a number of houses in Clara and Tullamore earlier this morning.

Three people were arrested, including two females ranging in age from late teens to 20 years old, and a man aged 23.

They are being detained under the provisions of Section 50 Criminal Justice Act 2007 as amended at Portlaoise, Tullamore and Birr stations.
