Two arrested over Kildare drug seizure

Garda seized drugs valued at €40,000 and arrested two men in Kildare yesterday.

As part of on-going intelligence-led operations targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Kildare area, Gardaí in the Athy and Newbridge, assisted by the Regional Support Unit arrested two males aged 47 and 38 for possession of cannabis and heroin.

The drugs, with an estimated value of €40,000, were discovered at a house in Athy at midnight on Wednesday.

The two men have been detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Newbridge and Kildare Garda stations.
