Tullamores Lisa focusing on new fashion line launch

Tullamore’s Best Dressed lady, Lisa McGowan, is going full steam ahead into the launch of her new label Strawberry and Lime. Due out in October, the first collection is made up of ten pieces designed by Belfast based Shauna Fay, and boutiques are already crying out for the designs before they’ve even seen any pictures.

“Strawberries for Shauna, and Lime for Lisa - that’s where we came up with the name. I’ve always worn Shauna’s designs, so it just made sense for this to happen,” Lisa told the Offaly Independent on Thursday. The supper savvy fashionista said interest in the new label has “spiralled out of control” since her €10,000 Best Dressed title win at the Galway races just over a week ago. “It has just taken off, the platform that the Galway races gave me, I am so thankful. No amount of money could have bought the exposure,” says lisa, who following her win, received an outpouring of support from women all over the country following an attack of internet trolls who levelled harsh abuse at the beauty.

The self proclaimed “thick skinned” entrepreneur hit back on facebook saying: “To all of you cyber bullies out there... P**s oFF aND GeT a lIFe. Would you like to be on the receiving end?” In her social media post, lisa said: “I’ve read lots of stuff about me over the last few days, horrible hurtful comments ‘droopy boob syndrome’, ‘should have worn a bra’, make-up atrocious, tangoed, satellite dish reception, fake Hollywood smile..oh lads the list goes on.

“You know what girls, I just don’t get why some folk have to be so horrible, yep the keyboard warriors have been out over the last weekend and building themselves up by trying to tear me down.” On Thursday however, Lisa she said she had drawn a line under the whole sordid mess, and was moving on with life. “I’m focusing on the positive, I’m focusing on my label and all the good things that have happened since my win at Galway. We are currently in the middle of designing our new page and logo, which is due to go live soon - so watch this space!”
