There"s always time for a mind and body facial
With all this talk about recession, there is an argument that while we do need to cut back, there are some beauty essentials that women just can"t live without. The proprietors of 'Time for Me' Beauty Salon on Harbour Street, Christine Lambe and Kim Meleady, understand that. But not only do they want to offer their clients great value for money, but also a high-quality service. Think of it as holistic beauty on a budget. When I went to get my hour-long facial done this week, the girls were in chatty form, which made me feel instantly welcome. Their passion for what they do was obvious as they told me all about the different treatments they offer. As part of their value for money ethos, the hour-long facial in Time for Me does not just focus on the face. First off, Christine started with a relaxing back massage to ease me into the moment. Then I turned over for one of the most relaxing and invigorating facials ever. Using Uber skincare products, she cleansed and toned my face, taking her time, while chatting away to me. I get the impression that both girls really enjoy the sociable nature of their job and never feel like they need to stick to a rigid time-frame within which they have to get the job done and get the next client in. Leaving the cleansing mask to do its work, Christine then massaged my hands and arms to increase the relaxation factor. And then the ultimate decadence on a lunchbreak, as Christine put heated-up booties on my freshly massaged and moisturised feet! As I lay there wondering how I could ever go back to work, I could feel all the tension and worries slip away. After the mask was cleaned off it was time to treat my dehydrated skin, especially around the cheek, nose and chin area. As a result of the recent cold weather, I knew my skin was poorly because of central heating at home and in the office, as well as blasting it on in the car. Christine was also able to advise me on the causes of a recent break-out and I get the impression that she"s a bit of an expert in proper skincare, from a health point of view. After some moisturiser and eye cream, I got a bit of blusher and mascara applied before I heading back to work. My skin was looking and feeling great and I felt full of energy and bounce. Maybe I should get one of these done every day before going into the office! A Time for Me has a great offer on at the moment just in time for Christmas. The girls are offering a loyalty card to clients. For every client who gets three of the same treatments carried out and stamped, they"ll get a fourth free. As Kim pointed out, by the time many people will need their fourth treatment, it would be around Christmas when money"s a bit tighter. They are also offering Christmas Party packages, where discounts are available for groups who book in together. But overall, Time for Me aims to accommodate everyone and at any time.
