Massages and breakfast masks all part of Decléor facial

There"s simply lashings of goodness when it comes to the Decléor facial at Renee"s Advanced Beauty Clinic in Tullamore, as reporter Danielle Harney discovered. Despite the doom and gloom surrounding the recession and the general state of the country, everybody still needs a little treat in the run-up to Christmas. I think my new guilty pleasure, my one luxury as I try to cut out other needless things, is the Decléor facial in Renee Spollen"s Advanced Beauty Clinic in Kilbride Court, Kilbride Street, Tullamore. A Decléor facial treatment is just like its products, you get exactly what you expect. Quality, holistic products and everything is 100% natural and chemical-free. And Decléor facials always come with complementing massages. Starting off with a back massage using aromatherapy oils, Renee tackled the tension in my body, caused by stress and poor posture. It"s the perfect start to a facial as by the time it"s done, you"re fully relaxed, and I believe, your face is more receptive to all the goodness it receives! Using the very popular milk cleanser that contains the super-fruit properties of kiwi and then the freshly-scented clarifying toner, Renee then identified the problem areas of my skin and started her treatments. She used a double-jobbing face mask, which goes on like a facial scrub, but then dries in like a peel on your face and by gently rubbing it from your skin, you get the exfoliating effect. This Matiere a Gommer Peel is very gentle on your skin compared to many other scrubs out there. Renee carried out a pressure-point massage on my face while using the Rose Oil and Balm, which warmed up slightly on my face. This balm which is normally for night-time, but it can be used on the skin before applying a other masks. It helps to purify and balance the skin, as well as refine the texture. For the breakout nose and chin area, Renee then applied a Clay and Herbal mask to draw out impurities. It"s enriched with a cocktail of fruit and plant extracts for a double effect, purifying and softening. Third up was the Hydra-Floral Anti-Pollution mask. This helps to rehydrate skin and tackle the dirt and grime brought on by being outdoors every day. Then the Decléor facial got a bit technical, or messy. But even more enjoyable. With some cotton pads on my eyes and a layer of gauze on my face, Renee made up breakfast for my face! This thick, oaty-smelling, full-of-goodness mask is heated up and applied onto your face for an intensive treatment. Called the Aromaplasy Mask, it"s nicknamed 'breakfast for your face' because not only does it smell like a mix of weetabix and ready-brek, but it"s super nutritious containing linseed, wheatgerm and sunflower. It stimulates and enhances the action of the products applied during the treatment, while moisturising and decongesting the skin. In my incapacitated state, deep within layers of super healthy face masks, with Renee giving my arms and hands a quick massage, I could feel the stress slip away as my mind seemed to retract inwards with relaxation. She then left me alone for a few minutes to relax. When Renee was unpeeling my layers (while admirably not getting any goo in my hair), I felt like I was coming back to life and I think I could feel my unclogged, clean, fresh skin breathing. One week later, my skin still looks radiant, smooth and pimple-free. If only I could have a reason to get this done every week.
