Funding boost for Carers" Tullamore HQ

The Carers" Association, whose headquarters are in Tullamore, will receive a grant of €572,000 from the Government"s Dormant Accounts Fund. The funding is the largest grant approved from the allocation of €9.7 million from the Dormant Accounts Fund to projects nationwide. Welcoming the news, Taoiseach Brian Cowen said, 'The Carers" Association carry out wonderful work for those in need and they have a well earned respect from communities nationwide. It is heartening to see their efforts receiving substantial state funding and the grant of €572,000 now approved will go a long way towards improving their training and support services for home carers.' The Taoiseach congratulated the Carers" Association for their dedicated efforts on behalf of those in need of care. He said that the Government are focusing support on a project that makes a genuine difference to people at local and community level.
