La Na gClub The La Na gClub organising committee have a full programme of events lined up for Sunday 10th May to celebrate 125 years of Cumann Luthcleas Gael. A warm welcome is extended to every member of the local community to visit the club grounds between 2pm and 6pm on the day and enjoy a cup of tea and a chat. There will of course be short games of football and hurling, long kick and long puck, penalty taking etc. There will be an exhibition of photographs and match programmes etc in the Community Centre. Entertainment will be provided by singers, dancers and musicians who have represented the Club in Scór and Scór na nÓg and by anyone else who wishes to take part. It is proposed to plant a tree and bury a time capsule. The festivities will start with a parade and a special Blessing and Prayer Service will be led by Fr, James. Division 3 Football League Ballycumber 2-10 Tullamore 0-8 Ciaran Grennan accounted for 1-6 of the total score with a terrific display of accuracy from play and placed balls. Two points from the outstanding Keith Lawler and a goal from Lorcan Halligan and one point each by Conor Robbins, Dermot Egan and Andrew Grennan completed the scoring in a well deserved victory. Division 1 Football League Ballycumber 3-12 St Brigid"s 3-6 The visitors got off to a great start and had 1-3 on the board before Rory Guinan got Ballycumber"s first score, this was quickly followed by goals from Fergal Daly and Conrad Casey. Sean Hackett added a point before Rory got another goal and Adrian Kelly added a point to leave the half time score at 3-3 to 1-4. Conor Connelly, Conrad Casey, Rory Guinan and Fergal Daly added points before St Brigid"s struck for two goals and two points to narrow the gap. Fergal Daly, Sean Hackett and Rory Guinea finished the scoring in an enjoyable game of football played in sunshine in Ballycumber on Saturday.
