Clara model comes third in TV competition

The Clara Leaving Cert student, Sharon Tuohey, came third out of an original casting of thousands of girls, in the RTÉ reality show "The Model Agent". The nail-biting final episode was broadcast on Monday night, and saw Sharon, 18, going on a modelling job to New York, to work for a shoe designer. It ended the whirlwind journey that began for the secondary school student last autumn, when she auditioned for the show in a Dublin shopping centre. The model agent, Ellis, picked up on Sharon"s natural beauty and photogenic ability immediately and she was selected to compete against eleven other girls in various modelling industry related tasks. International supermodel Erin O"Connor was also on hand to provide advice to Sharon and the other contestants. The final episode attracted an average audience of 219,000 people with 16% of the available audience tuning in to see Carrie-Anne Burton crowned the winner. Coming third does mean that Sharon could have a great future ahead of her if she decides to become a professional model. But for now, it"s back to reality, as Sharon will take on the Leaving Cert next week.
