An Edenderry businesswoman has decided to tackle the recession head on by setting up a Women in Business network for the town. Local portrait photographer Nida Collins, organised the first gathering of the Edenderry and District Women in Business last Thursday in Larkin"s Bistro. 'A wonderful mix of women attended, from boutique owners, shop owners, beauty therapists, interior designer, a barrister, politicians, stay at home mums, members of our local choral group to name but a few. These ladies all had one thing in common, a desire to meet new people, socialise with like minded women, network and those in business to collectively promote business in our area,' she said. Nida gave a presentation outlining the goals of the new network. 'We are a bunch of bright, forward-thinking "on the ball" women who believe in making things happen for ourselves. We see the current economic climate as a challenge to be faced as apposed to a problem that immobilises us. We have power and strength working together as a team offering support and encouragement to each other and having a huge amount of fun in the process,' she said.
