Tullamore singer plays Dublin City Soul Festival

Singer songwriter Mark Conway from Tullamore enjoyed great success last weekend in Dublin City Soul Festival"s Global "Rising Stars" search. The search, designed to find and promote the best new and upcoming original acts from across Ireland and as far a field as; Canada, Egypt, England, France, Italy, Belize, Kenya, Mexico, Togo and the United States was narrowed down from hundreds of entrants to one hundred for which the public could vote for and was recently narrowed down to the top three for which Mark has been chosen. As a result Mark and his band played a prestigious slot on the Dublin Soul festival"s main outdoor stage playing to over 2,000 people on a gloriously sunny day in Dublin"s Merrion Square Park. The performance was also broadcast live on a national radio station, Dublin Ctiy FM 103.2 and subsequently heard worldwide due to the fact that the station also broadcasts on the internet. Mark and his band, which features brothers Matt Field on bass and Jonny Field on drums also played another outdoor concert in Templebar"s packed Meeting House Square last Friday as part of the festival celebrations. Mark will be playing Whelans, Dublin Monday, June 1, and the Stables, Mullingar Thursday, June 4, with both promising to be fantastic shows.
