Cappagh NS celebrates Cumann na mBunscoil double

This year has been a memorable and exciting one, with great success in Cumann na mBunscoil. Last October the school won the Division 3 title with victory over old rivals Clonbullogue N.S. Also the Division 1 title (for football only schools) was recently achieved with a thrilling one point victory over Ballybryan N.S. in an excellent game of football which was a credit to both teams. Cappagh NS Principal Frank Brennan, was ably assisted by local St Vincent"s club members in preparing the team. The school"s success is a credit to the tremendous work done at underage level by St Vincent"s. Their work and support is deeply appreciated by the school. The Parents" Association and the two local clubs, Kilclonfert and Ballycommon have also been very supportive. Thanks to Offaly star Alan McNamee who came to the school recently to present the medals. He was an inspiration to the pupils, some of whom, it is hoped will have the honour of playing for Offaly in the future.
