January events at Birr Theatre

If one of your resolutions for the coming year is to be entertained or to catch some culture, Birr Theatre should certainly be one of your ports of call. The theatre has a jam-packed line-up of events right from the beginning of the year. Here's a selection: Tea Time "Tea Time" is a professionally curated exhibition by artistic group "Common Ground". The exhibition will open in January from 1pm to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and during performances and will showcase the exceptional talent and diversity of visual artists in the midlands today. Neil Delamere Following the sell out success of his last show Offaly comedian Neil Delamere come to Birr Theatre with his new show "Restructuring" on Friday, January 6. Tickets for the must see show are available at €20/€18, with curtains at 8pm Birr Film Club On January 17 the film offering is "The Tree". Tickets are available at the same prices as above, with screening at 8pm. At the same time on January 24 the film club screens "The Light Thief", while the month's schedule wraps up on January 31 with "Mammuth" Musical Toast On Friday, January 20 Dinner Jacket Productions present tenor David Martin, baritone Jonathon Carter and soprano Sinead Conway. Tickets for the 8pm show are available for €15. The Reel World Saturday, January 21 sees the beginning of film-making course "The Reel World" at Birr Theatre. The course is open to those aged between twelve and 16 and costs €80.
