First comedy gig a success

The Chestnut Bar in Birr played host to its very first night of stand up comedy last Sunday and all accounts say it was a roaring success. The comedy gig took place in the Chestnut's beer garden. First up was local comedian Alison Spittle, who set the tone for the evening by coaxing the audience into spasms of laughter. Acts following Alison included Maria Boyle, Geo, Jake Bourke and headliner Christian Talbot, all kept in order by MC for the night Jonathan Sheehan. All who supported the venture and staff at The Chestnut have been thanked for their work in making the pub's first comedy gig a success.
