OLDC to open new Edenderry office

Offaly Local Development Company (OLDC) is to open new offices in Edenderry. Situated adjacent to Edenderry library, the new offices will be opened today, Wednesday, October 10. The office move is a result of discussions and collaboration between Offaly County Council and OLDC that led to resource sharing and better services for the people of Edenderry according to a statement released last week. The collaboration between the two has already seen Edenderry library used on Monday mornings as the OLDC Jobseekers Resource Centre. The new OLDC office space set to open will include office space for six full time Edenderry OLDC staff, community development workers Nick Foley and Mary Meehan, social scheme supervisor Joan Petterton and TÚS supervisors Stephanie Bolger and Brian Keating. A clinic room for individual and small group meetings will also cater for outreach services and clinics provided by smallholder development worker Brian Lyons, enterprise worker Sheila Hoctor and a number of other one-to-one support services. The office opening will take the form of an open afternoon from noon until 6pm, with staff members showcasing their work and welcoming the public to see the new offices anad facilities. All are welcome to drop in, while more information is available by calling OLDC Edenderry on 046 9732688.
