€10.5m lotto jackpot goes to ... Mullingar

When it emerged last night that the sole winning ticket for the €10.5m lotto jackpot was sold in the Midlands, it had people across Offaly, Westmeath, Laois, Longford and surrounding areas wondering if the newly-minted millionaire was living nearby.

And in the Offaly region, hopes were high that someone within the community had scooped the jackpot.

This morning it has emerged that the winning ticket was sold in Tesco in Mullingar.

The winning numbers were 12, 14, 16, 33 and 43. Bonus number was 2
