Tullamore Hospital maintains "escalation policy" for a second day running

The Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore is experiencing high levels of attendances with many patients requiring admission today, Wednesday 30th May.

The INMO reports 27 patients are on trolleys today across wards and the Emergency Department.

In a statement released today, the HSE say their "escalation policy" is continuing for a secon day running.

They ask that, "In order to assist us, we are requesting that patients in the first instance, consider using their GP out of hours for medical assessment, where possible."

"The Hospital regrets that any patient should experience delays in accessing In patient beds," the statement continued.

At the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar there are 21 patients on trolleys, while in Portlaoise, the figure reported is 10.
