Road issues at Puttaghaun to be addressed by end of year, councillor says

Offaly County Council is soon to address road issues at Puttaghaun, Tullamore, according to a local councillor.

Cllr Aoife Masterson has said she has been working with residents in the area for some time since they first contacted her with concerns about 'the dip, potholes and lack of road markings' at Puttaghaun.

I am glad to say that, following my persistent representations, the council has committed to addressing the dip and potholes, with the road markings to follow, before the end of year', said Cllr Masterson.

'This is badly needed. The fact is the new housing developments and extra traffic mean Puttaghaun is now as much a part of the town as Spollanstown and Clonminch. It’s time for the road markings to reflect that. Without them, it’s harder to prevent accidents and harder to establish liability when they do happen', added the Sinn Fein party member.

Cllr Masterson said she intends to remain focused on this matter 'until the work is done'.
