New planning bid for Eden housing

Proposals for further housing development at Ard na Carraige in Edenderry are being revived, with a planning application lodged this month for 21 new homes there.

The planning application was submitted to the council by Edenderry-based NCE Developments Ltd, directed by Neil Tyrell and Cathal Tyrell, on August 6.

It seeks permission to build 21 houses to the serviced site, stating that this was "previously granted under the expired planning permissions for a residential development comprising of 126 dwellings."

The new homes that are planned would consist of six 3-bedroom houses, and fifteen 4-bedroom houses. Some 49 car parking spaces would be provided, with two per dwelling along with seven off-street spaces.

Offaly County Council is due to make a decision on the planning bid by the end of September.
