One man taken to hospital following M6 crash

A young man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries following an early morning accident on the M6 today.

The single vehicle collision happened close to the Clara exit at 8.30am this morning, when it's thought he lost control of his vehicle, hitting the side barrier before spinning in the central median.

The young driver, who is believed to have been driving to work at the time, was later taken by ambulance to the Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore with non-life threatening injuries.

It's understood he is 19 years of age and does not hail from the Midlands area.

There was some traffic disruption following the accident until the scene was cleared.

Clara Gardai are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
