RTÉ discloses earnings of its highest-paid broadcasters

RTÉ today disclosed the earnings of its top ten highest-paid broadcasters for 2017, 2018, and 2019, and Late Late Show host Ryan Tubridy topped the list with annual earnings of just under half a million euro.

The State broadcaster said it had cut the pay of its highest earning presenters by 15% in 2020.

In each of the three years between 2017 and 2019, Mr Tubridy was RTÉ's highest paid presenter.

In 2019, the most recent year for which figures are available, he earned €495,000; followed by Ray Darcy on €450,000 and Joe Duffy on €392,494.

The others among the top ten highest-paid broadcasters at RTÉ in 2019 were: the late Marian Finucane (€358,013); the now-retired Sean O'Rourke (€327,988); Miriam O'Callaghan (€320,000); Claire Byrne (€250,000); Brendan O'Connor (€220,000); Bryan Dobson (€220,000) and Mary Wilson (€196,961).

Seven of the top ten highest earners at RTÉ in 2019 were contracting their services to the station. The exceptions were Sean O'Rourke, Bryan Dobson and Mary Wilson, who were RTÉ employees.
