Killeigh 'win a house' draw introduces alternative prize of €300k cash

A 'win a house' draw which has been organised as a fundraiser for the planned new Community Centre in Killeigh has been adapted to offer the option of €300,000 in cash as an alternative to the top prize.

The Killeigh Community Centre Development Association launched its 'win a house in Enfield' fundraiser earlier this year, with the prize of an A-rated three-bedroom semi-detached house at Royal Oaks, Enfield, valued at €355,000.

The draw is planned for January 3 next, with a maximum of 15,000 tickets, priced €100 each, being sold for it.

This week, the organising committee said it had decided to give the lucky winner of the draw the option of taking either a cash prize of €300,000 or the house.

"The committee feels this will widen the interest in the draw and maximise the returns for the community centre," said its PRO Martina Gorman.

Tickets for the draw can be purchased online, or locally at Gormans Shop Killeigh, Grennans on the Green Pub, Killeigh, Maunsells Shop Tullamore, Byrnes Gala shop Geashill , Chadwick's Rahan Road, Patrick Michells Tullamore, Grennans on the Green pub Killeigh , Edenderry Midland Vetinary, and Super Valu in Enfield.
