Ready to strut his stuff - Tullamore Rugby Sevens star and 'Dancing with the Stars' contestant, Jordan Conroy.

"I do love a good boogie" says Dancing with the Stars Jordan!

Tullamore-based Rugby Union player and Olympian, Jordan Conroy, is set to swap his rugby boots for his dancing shoes as to takes to the dance floor in January as one of the celebrity contestants in RTE 1's glittering new 'Dancing With the Stars' Show, and has admitted that he is "in to win."

Jordan and Love Island star, Matthew MacNabb, were announced as the final two celebrity dancers who will take to the floor for Dancing with the Stars by Jennifer Zamparelli on RTÉ 2fm this morning (Tuesday). The professional dancer line-up and celebrity pairings will be announced in the coming weeks, before the beginning of the show in the New Year.

Jordan Conroy has said he does love "a good boogie" and is "very excited" to don his shiny dancing shoes and put his dancing skills to the test. His agility on the rugby pitch is sure to be a major asset on the dancefloor for the member of the Ireland Rugby Sevens team, who only took up rugby at the relatively late age of 18.

The Tullamore athete, who represented Offaly and Ireland at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics earlier this year, played athletics and soccer as a teen, and made his Irish Rugby Sevens debut in 2016 at the Amsterdam Sevens and Newcastle Sevens tournaments.

Jordan’s most successful season came in 2019 when at the 2019 Hong Kong sevens qualifier for the 2019–20 season, Conroy led all try scorers with 10 tries in the tournament, earning the Player of the Tournament award, and a spot at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Commenting on his participation in 'Dancing with the Stars' Jordan Conroy said "I'm really excited to put my dancing skills to the test and looking forward to swapping out rugby boots for the shiny dancing shoes! It will definitely be a change of scenery, I can't wait to have fun with it and learn different dances - I do love a good boogie! I have to say there's a winning mentality and I'm in to win!"
