Local ICA guild participates in 'One Million Stars To End Violence' project
Horseleap/Streamstown ICA Guild is participating in Amber’s 'One Million Stars To End Violence' project, an inclusive community arts project connecting communities across Ireland in solidarity against domestic abuse and all forms of violence.
Each eight-point star woven represents light, hope and solidarity against violence, promoting the eight points of healthy love within relationships.
Stars are curated into into installations, spreading love and hope for a future free from violence and abuse for all in our community.
On May 7, a group of members of Horseleap/Streamstown ICA Guild attended the launch of the 'One Million Stars to End Violence' campaign which the guild were busy making pieces for in the autumn
Some of the ladies made up a display board which was brought into Belvedere House, Mullingar and got great praise at the Cathaoirleach Awards on Friday prior to Saturday's launch.
The ladies on Saturday were engaging with other groups while promoting the ICA and had a very enjoyable day.
The guild is back in action and held their May Meeting on May 4 last in the Horseleap Streamstown Community Centre where planning is underway for outings and events to gain confidence again.
