Harry Potter actress visits local cafe

Beloved Harry Potter actress Miriam Margolyes created a stir in Shannonbridge when she stopped off at a local cafe yesterday.

The River Cafe, located in the historic fortifications just across the bridge in county Roscommon, posted a picture of the actress with young staff on their Facebook page.

The River Cafe post joked that the renowned actress made the day for all of their Harry Potter fans!

The British-Australian actress is currently on the road around Ireland for a new TV show, and her partner is an unlikely one - Senator Lynn Ruane.

The Dublin-based Senator, who hosts the On The Margins podcast, shared a short video of the pair setting off on their road trip on Monday.

The duo are exploring the life of of playwright and Abbey Theatre founder Lady Gregory, whose home was in Coole Park, near Gort in Co Galway.

A veteran of stage and screen, Margolyes is best known in recent times for her turn as Professor Pumona Sprout in the hit Harry Potter films.

A witty raconteur, she is a regular guest on programmes like The Graham Norton Show where her comedic stories have proved a massive hit with viewers for years.

Her new show, entitled 'Lady Gregory – Ireland’s First Social Influencer' will air on RTÉ One.
