Man in his 60s arrested after €29,000 Offaly drug seizure

Cocaine and cannabis with an estimated value of €29,400 was seized following a search, under warrant, of two residential premises in the Tullamore area today (Thursday).

A man in his 60s was arrested by An Garda Síochána in connection with the seizure and was detained under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Tullamore Garda Station.

The drug seizure was part of an intelligence-led operation conducted by Revenue's Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau, and the Tullamore Detective Unit.

Herbal cannabis weighing 1.28kgs, and 100 grams of cocaine, were recovered during the searches of the two Tullamore-area homes.

In a statement, Revenue said investigations into the matter were ongoing.
