Public meeting to give update on Killeigh Community Centre

A public meeting is taking place in Tullamore next week to provide an update on the new community centre planned for Killeigh.

The meeting is taking place in the Bridge House Hotel at 8pm on Tuesday next, October 4.

For the last five years, the Killeigh Community Centre Development Association has been working to advance the project, after a need was identified for a new community centre on the site of the former Macra Hall.

The committee said it had made "considerable progress" in relation to the new facility and it decided to call the meeting next week "to update all interested parties on the developments that have been made to date."

The community centre committee is running a 'Win a House' fundraising draw with the prize of a new three-bedroom house in Enfield, County Meath, or €300,000 in cash.

The draw is now in its final ten weeks, as it is scheduled to take place on December 19, and the committee said it was "endeavouring to rally local support to ensure a successful outcome to its fundraising effort."

The committee is encouraging anyone who wants to see a "vibrant" new community centre in Killeigh to come along to next week's public meeting, and it said all support would be greatly appreciated.
