Draw for Killeigh ‘win a house’ fundraiser set for Monday

Almost a year after it was originally scheduled to take place, the draw for a 'Win A House in Meath' fundraiser organised in support of the new community centre in Killeigh will take place this coming Monday (December 19).

The draw will be held in Tullamore's Bridge House Hotel at 9pm, and it will also be streamed live on the 'Win A House in Meath' Facebook page.

The prize on offer in the €100-a-ticket fundraiser is a three-bedroom home with an 'A' energy rating at 27 The Avenue, Royal Oaks, Enfield, county Meath. The lucky winner will also be given the option of choosing a €300,000 cash prize instead of the house, if they so decide.

Martina Gorman, PRO of the Killeigh Community Centre Development Association, said it was grateful for the support received to date.

"We cannot thank everyone enough for all the support, not only locally but nationally and overseas.

“All funds raised will go towards the build, which has now commenced, and the committee are so delighted to finally get the project underway," she said.

The 'win a house' draw was initially scheduled to take place on January 3 last, but was postponed for almost a year.

"Unfortunately, as we haven't yet raised enough to cover the costs associated with the draw, we have made the difficult decision to defer the draw until December 19, 2022," ticket holders were told last December.

In an update which was given at the AGM of the Killeigh Community Centre Development Association early last month it was stated that around 6,500 tickets had been sold by that stage, and the committee was hopeful that another 1,500 would be sold between then and draw on Monday.

The community centre in Killeigh is being built by local firm Allen Kenny Construction Ltd, and is due to be completed before the end of next year.
