Met Éireann issues five-hour warning for strong winds and thunderstorms

Met Éireann has issued a weather warning which will take effect in sixteen counties, including Westmeath and Offaly, this afternoon (Tuesday).

The yellow-level warning is for strong winds, and the forecasting service said isolated thunderstorms should also be expected in certain areas.

It will become "very windy or squally for a time today with isolated thunderstorms possible," said Met Éireann.

The weather warning will be in effect for five hours, from 2pm to 7pm today.

The warning is for the counties of Cavan, Monaghan, Tipperary, Waterford, and all of the Leinster counties.
