New Ballyboy community centre mooted

The existing Ballyboy community hall could be demolished, if new plans progress, to make way for a new facility.

Ballyboy Community Development Company Ltd has published a planning notice indicating their plan to submit documents to Offaly County Coucil seeking permission to knock down the current building which is described as “derelict”, and construct a brand new single-storey community centre in its place. It would comprise of a main hall area, smaller meeting room, kitchen, store room, toilets, office and a partial lower ground or basement storage area. The plans also include a new road entrance, car parking and partial demolition and reconstruction of existing roadside stone boundary wall, new footpaths, new boundary walls, fences and ramps and site landscaping.
