Final preparations for the National Ploughing Championships in Screggan to feature on RTE's Nationwide tonight.

Airing on RTE One at 7pm, the epsiode is set to feature stories from the world of farming and rural life as the National Ploughing Championships get underway at Screggan, Tullamore in county Offaly.

Nationwide is presented by Anne Cassin and Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh.

The National Ploughing Championships will return to Screggan this week, and organisers are reporting strong ticket sales with around 1,500 exhibitors expected to take part.

The three-day event will run from Tuesday to Thursday, September 15 to 17.
