Former Offaly captain completes club transfer to Connacht champions

The former Offaly senior football captain Johnny Moloney has completed a club transfer from Tullamore to the reigning Galway and Connacht champions, Moycullen.

Galway Bay FM reported that Moloney, who recently retired from intercounty football, was living in Galway and had now completed the permanent switch from his home club.

The experienced Moloney reached the Offaly county final with Tullamore last September, a game which ended in a one-point defeat to Rhode.

He has now joined one of the most high-profile clubs in the country, which boasts a number of Galway county players in its ranks including Séan Kelly and Peter Cooke.

There have been several notable club transfers in the GAA inside the last twelve months, such as Galway star Shane Walsh's move from Kilkerrin-Clonberne to Kimacud Crokes, and Mayo goalkeeper Rob Hennelly's switch from Breaffy to Raheny.
