Cowen welcomes local GAA walking track funding

Local Fianna Fail TD Barry Cowen has welcomed funding from the Department of Health under the GAA Walking Track Initiative to Durrow GAA Club (€10,000) and Seir Kieran GAA Club (€15,000).

Deputy Cowen stated: “Initiatives such as this have immediate, tangible benefits for people of all ages by providing a safe environment for physical activity, particularly for people who may not be able to access other exercise amenities. It’s a wonderful example of the Healthy Ireland principles in action, as it’s empowering people and communities to better look after their own health and wellbeing.”

Deputy Cowen concluded: “I wish to congratulate Durrow GAA Club and Seir Kieran GAA Club on their successful applications and wish them both well for the future”.
