Man arrested after €250,000 of drugs seized in Cork

A man has been arrested after drugs worth €250,000 have been seized in Cork.

Gardaí attached to the Cork City Divisional Drugs Unit, carried out the search of a property as part of an ongoing operation into the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the City.

Approximately €126,000 worth of cocaine and €125,000 of cannabis herb was seized during the course of the search.

All of the suspected drugs will now be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.

A man in his 20s remains in Garda custody at a Cork Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

Gardaí said investigations are currently ongoing.
