Minister of State Pippa Hackett will be travelling to Finland, Estonia and Latvia for St Patrick's Day.

Offaly Minister to visit three countries for St Patrick's Day

Offaly Minister of State Pippa Hackett will be by the Baltic Sea this St Patrick's Day, representing the Government on visits to Finland, Estonia and Latvia.

The list of destinations where Ministers will be travelling for the national feast day in March was released yesterday (Tuesday).

It revealed that the Offaly-based Green Party Minister would be heading to the three North East European countries for St Patrick's Day events there.

Ms Hackett became a Senator in 2019 and is Minister of State for Land Use and Biodiversity at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.

Another Midlands Junior Minister, Westmeath's Peter Burke, will be travelling to the US State of Georgia for St Patrick's Day, visiting Savannah and Atlanta.

More than 30 State representatives will be heading abroad for trips that take in all corners of the globe this March.

"Programmes undertaken by Ministers will strengthen our links with the diaspora and business leaders," the Department of Foreign Affairs stated yesterday (Tuesday).

The Department added that St Patrick's Day presented "an unparalleled opportunity to promote Ireland as a great place to visit, work, study, trade with, and invest in".
