Three Offaly trains today are 'sold out', Irish Rail says
Irish Rail is reporting particularly high demand on trains serving Offaly today (Thursday), with three services this afternoon and evening already sold out.
In a social media post, a spokesperson for the train company said intending passengers should note that the 15.05 Galway to Heuston service, which serves Clara and Tullamore, was sold out.
Both the 17.20 Galway to Heuston train and the 18.15 Heuston to Westport service, which each serve Tullamore, were sold out also.
Irish Rail warned that its services were expected to remain extremely busy in the days ahead.
"Services are selling fast over the weekend due to the Six Nations rugby," said the spokesperson, in reference to Sunday's game between Ireland and Italy in Dublin.
