Offaly GAA bids fond farewell to games officer departing for Australia

Offaly GAA this week paid a warm tribute to one of its longest-serving Games Promotion Officers, Mairead Daly, who finished up in her role in order to go travelling in Australia.

Wednesday was the day Mairead's games promotion role came to an end, and in an online tribute Offaly GAA wished her safe travels.

Mairead was described as "an excellent coach" who would be missed by Edenderry GAA club, her own club St Rynagh's, and all of the Offaly GAA coaching and games staff.

Offaly county board chairman Michael Duignan added his own message of thanks to Mairead for her "fantastic" service to the county, and wished her the best on her travels.

Michael said she was, "a top-class role model who has come back from serious injury more than once and always with a smile on her face".
