Section of Grand Canal Greenway in Tullamore to close next week

Offaly County Council has announced that a 1km stretch of the Grand Canal Greenway in Tullamore will close next week due to maintenance work on the canal bank.

The temporary closure is due to last from Monday to Saturday next (March 11 to 16).

The maintenance work on the canal bank is being carried out by Waterways Ireland, and it will result in the greenway being closed from 28th lock on the Grand Canal, at Srah, Tullamore, for a distance of 1km to the west.

Local access arrangements and diversions are due to be in place for the duration of the work.

Offaly County Council and Waterways Ireland apologised for any inconvenience caused.
