Acclaimed folk singer announces Birr date

Acclaimed folk singer Seán Keane has announced a Birr date in early April.

The Galway-born singer, who grew up in a small village called Caherlistrane near Tuam, in a family of singers and musicians, comes to Birr Theatre and Arts Centre on Saturday, April 6 next.

His musical voice is unique and his songs encompass a mixture of traditional Irish folk music, blues, and country. While his roots are in old Ireland with the Keane family tradition of sean-nós singing, Seán's voice lends itself beautifully to many different genres and his skill on the flute, whistles and pipes with which he punctuates songs, make his work unforgettable.

Some of his best known songs include 'Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears', 'Galway to Graceland' and 'Home Away From Home' are enduringly popular as are his more recent material like 'Paint me a picture of Ireland', 'Natures Little Symphony', and 'One More Hour'.

Seán Keane tours regularly with his band all over Ireland, Austria, Germany, the US and Canada as well as appearing at major festivals worldwide. He continues to delight audiences all over the world with his live performances and all of his recorded work.

He plays Birr Theatre and Arts Centre on April 6 next at 8pm. Tickets are €30 + booking fee from https://www.birrtheatre.com/ Doors open at 7.30pm.
