The upcoming episode of RTÉ's 'Tracks and Trails' will explore three beautiful trails in Offaly.

Irish author Sinead Moriarty will enjoy the different trails and the show will broadcast on RTÉ One this Friday, April 12 at 7.30pm.

She begins with a loop around Glinsk Forest near Kinnitty in the Slieve Bloom Mountains, discovering a stunning forest which is now criss-crossed by mountain-bike, horse riding and hiking trails. She also visits the grounds of Kinnity Castle and continues up into the forest where she meets photographer Paul Moore.

Sinéad then travels to Croghan Hill where she takes a short steep hike up an ancient trail with links to St Brigid and St Patrick before meeting with Heritage Officer, Amanda Pedlow who fills her in on the mythical history of the site.
