Tullamore to be hit by water supply disruption tonight

Residents in many parts of Tullamore are likely to be affected by disruption to their water supply late tonight (Monday).

Uisce Éireann said that pump station upgrade works are expected to interrupt supplies from midnight until 2am on Tuesday.

Areas which may be affected include Arden Road, Arden Vale, Arden View, Axis, Burlington Business Park, Carraig Cluin, Charleville Road, Clara Road, Clonaslee Trunk, Cloncollig, Clonminch, Collins Lane North, Collins Lane Trunk, Daingean Road, Marian Place, Shrah, Tinnycross, Tullamore North, and surrounding areas.

Uisce Éireann is recommending that those affected allow 2 to 3 hours, after the estimated restoration time, for their supply to fully return. This means that if all goes according to schedule, the water should be back by the time most people get up on Tuesday morning.

Separately, there is a report today (Monday) of a reservoir interruption causing supply disruptions to Walsh Island and surrounding areas in Offaly.

Uisce Éireann said works to restore supplies in this area were scheduled to take place until 5pm today.
