Three Darkness Into Light walks happening in Offaly early tomorrow morning

Darkness Into Light, Pieta's annual fundraising walk to raise money for lifesaving suicide and self-harm support, returns tomorrow morning (Saturday), starting at 4.15am.

In Offaly, three official Darkness Into Light events have been arranged. These will be held in Banagher, Lough Boora and Rhode.

The walk in Banagher will be leaving from Banagher College, Coláiste na Sionna.

This is the 10th year Banagher has participated in Darkness into Light, and those taking part are advised to assemble by 3.45am. DJ Anto will be providing entertainment before the walk gets underway.

The walk in Rhode will be leaving from Ballybryan School (Eircode: R35 X670), while the third Offaly walk will be held in Lough Boora Parklands (Eircode: R35 DA50).

Pieta said Darkness Into Light, sponsored by Electric Ireland, is this year expected to attract 100,000 participants at more than 230 official events across four continents, with many more taking part to fundraise in their own way.
