Tullamore's Gráinne snaps Irish boxing selfie as thousands attend Dublin homecoming

Huge crowds gathered in Dublin this afternoon (Monday) to welcome home Ireland's Olympic heroes.

The success of Team Ireland athletes in winning seven medals at the Olympics drew thousands of people to the city centre for a celebration outside the GPO.

An Offaly's Gráinne Walsh, who was one of ten Irish boxers to compete at the games, captured a memorable 'selfie' at the event with her fellow Irish boxing teammates, including gold medal winner Kellie Harrington and head coach Zaur Antia.

The Irish Athletic Boxing Association (IABA) shared Gráinne's photo from the "epic" homecoming event on social media:

Gráinne Walsh and Belfast's Aidan Walsh were chosen as the co-leaders of the Irish boxing team in Paris.
