JYSK is set to open in Tullamore Retail Park on Thursday, June 12.

Opening date announced for JYSK store in Tullamore

Danish retailer JYSK has announced that its new store in Tullamore will open on Thursday, June 12.

The furniture and home decor chain was granted planning permission at the beginning of this year for a change of use of the former Argos store, Unit D, at Tullamore Retail Park in Cloncollig, to a retail warehouse.

In an update today (Wednesday), JYSK said the grand opening of the Tullamore store would take place on June 12 and would represent "another milestone in the brand's rapid expansion" across Ireland.

It said "approximately 10" new jobs in the local area would be created as a result of the store's opening.

Special offers are being planned to mark the opening, with JYSK saying customers would be able to avail of in-store discounts of up to 70% on its goods from opening day until Wednesday, June 18.

"As JYSK continues to grow its footprint in Ireland, this latest opening brings the total number of stores across the country to 27, with locations from Letterkenny to Thurles offering customers even more opportunities to experience the brand's unique style and great value," said the retail chain in a statement.

In January of this year, JYSK opened its new Irish head office at Park West Business Park in Dublin.

It said it was working towards the opening this year of five new Irish stores, including the branch in Tullamore, and that these would increase the company's employment here to almost 350 members of staff.

Last November 2024, JYSK announced a turnover of €120 million, which was up 13.6% on the previous year, for Ireland and the UK in 2023 / 2024.

JYSK said its "Scandinavian design ethic and stylish approach to interiors has made the brand known and loved across the world".
