Derry have been eliminated from the All Ireland Football Championship.

They could not find a way past Dublin who came away from their round three fixture with a 22 point to 20 win.

The Dubs finished in second behind Armagh who suffered a one point loss to Galway.

A Shane Walsh free in the dying seconds was enough to hand his side a 2-22 to 27 point win and keep his side in the championship..

Meanwhile, Kerry have missed out on top spot in Group 2.

They were beaten by Meath by 1-22 to 16 points in their final group game.

Elsewhere, it has finished Cork 0-19 Roscommon 0-17 in the other game in that group.

That means, Roscommon will exit the championship with Meath topping the group and Kerry and Cork progressing.

The All Ireland hurling championship journey for Kildare is over.

The Joe McDonagh Cup winners were beaten by Dublin in their preliminary quarter final in Newbridge.

The Dubs will now play Limerick in the next round after getting past their neighbours by 3-25 to 13 points.

Earlier, Tipperary eased into the last 8 with a 3-32 to 18 point victory over Laois.

Next up for them is a quarter final tie against Galway.

Fermanagh have booked their spot in the last four of the Tailteann Cup on Saturday evening.
